Controller

The controller is the operator named in the imprint, reachable at info [at] simply-keepass.org.

This website

The website sets no cookies, doesn’t embed content, fonts or scripts from third-party servers and uses no analytics or advertising services. Your chosen appearance (light/dark) is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and never transmitted.

When you visit, the web server stores an access log: IP address, time, requested address, amount of data transferred, status code, referrer and browser identifier. This serves secure operation and troubleshooting (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after 90 days at most and are not passed on to third parties. The server is located in Germany.

The Simply KeePass app

The app transmits no data to us. There is no account, no statistics and no advertising. The app connects to:

• your WebDAV server – to load and save the encrypted vault file. You choose and are responsible for this server yourself;
• the websites of your entries and, as a fallback, the icon service of DuckDuckGo – to load logos. The entry’s domain is transmitted, nothing else;
• DeepSeek – only if you enter a DeepSeek API key yourself: then the name of entries without a URL is transmitted to find a logo;
• on Android, when signing in to an app with a passkey: the file /.well-known/assetlinks.json of the domain concerned, to check whether the app belongs to it.

Passwords, usernames, notes, one-time codes and passkeys leave the device only encrypted inside the vault file.
